Welcome to Simon's website which has been set up to promote his latest book, to introduce his lectures and talks, to list upcoming events where Simon is speaking and to carry his blogs on topics he is researching. Simon's latest book Guys like Gauguin will be published by Troubador in August 2026. His first book Utterly Immoral, Robert Keable and his scandalous novel, the first full biography of Robert Keable, came out in 2022. Simon is an experienced lecturer having delivered over 100 talks and lectures in the last couple of years about artists and writers associated with Tahiti, his grandfather the 'utterly immoral' Robert Keable and the story of the South African Native Labour Corps during WW1.

"We all enjoyed your fascinating and brilliantly delivered talk on Thursday and by all accounts you were deemed the best speaker we've booked in a long time!"
Committee Member, Ealing U3A
"Thank you so much for your presentation about your grandfather. I could see everyone enjoyed the talk. It was interestingly illustrated, giving us a very full picture of Robert Keable's packed life. You have obviously done so much research and it really paid off!"
Committee Member, Merton U3A
"Thank you very much for your fabulous talk this morning. I thought it was great!! So interesting… One member afterwards told me that you were the best U3A speaker that she had heard this year!!"
